When Diwali approaches, demand for festive light installation surges across Delhi NCR. Platforms like Urban Company offer "Festival Lights Installation" slots, but many Gurgaon residents encounter frustrating limitations — rigid string length caps (e.g. 12-meter maximums), high surge pricing during Dhanteras week, and technicians who refuse to do minor electrical fixes or hang non-standard decorative items.
Here is an honest, head-to-head comparison between booking via Urban Company and choosing Gurgaon's local specialist, Power Services Home Fix.
Head-to-Head Comparison: Urban Company vs Power Services Home Fix
| Feature / Service Metric | Urban Company | Power Services Home Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Booking & Arrival Time | Scheduled 24–48 hours in advance; slots fill quickly | Instant Same-Day Dispatch (15–30 min in South Gurgaon) |
| String Length Restrictions | Strictly limited to 12 meters per item; extra fees for longer runs | No rigid limits — custom setups for balconies, terraces & villas |
| Included Fasteners & Hardware | Customer often asked to arrange clips, extension boards & ties | Technician brings heavy-duty UV ties, vulcanizing tape & clips |
| Electrical Safety & Load Balancing | Installation only; won't diagnose MCB tripping or socket faults | Full master electrician visit — audits socket earthing & MCB load |
| Floral & Lantern Hanging | Requires separate handyman/carpenter booking | All-in-one: fairy lights, marigolds, torans & Akash Kandils |
| Convenience & Platform Fees | Convenience fee + platform fee + surge fee during festive week | Zero hidden fees — transparent, fixed rate card |
